One of the main feature being the access to a private balcony from where you can admire the wonderful view of the Plaza and some of the most important monuments such as the Church of Señora de la Asunción, the Teatro Lope de Vega and the Clock Tower.
Unique enclave, declared one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, a beautiful and magical place. Plaza Mayor of Chinchón is considered one of the most beautiful squares in the world for its harmony and proportions. It’s a classic medieval square. The first houses were actually supported by the arcade. The balconies were constructed in the fifteenth century which by the seventeenth century were completely closed. It is one of the best examples of a ‘Castellano’ arcaded square. It has an irregular shape and a simple structure, forming a three-floor building with flat galleries and 234 wooden balconies.
The Plaza has always been host to many activities: royal festivals, proclamations, a setting for staged comedies, games, bullfights, executions, religious- political and military ceremonies, and an outdoor cinema among other things. Since the Middle Ages the Plaza has been the place for locals to sell their crops, their livestock and do business in general. It was also the place where foreign traders brought their goods to do business in town. Currently most of these homes are restaurants, bars and shops that sell local foods.
